Some thoughts after this week's meetup

Hi Everyone,

I thought Monday's meetup was terrific. About nineteen people showed up, despite the inclement weather. Special thanks go out to the group from http://www.tripadviso... for making it worthwhile. This was the best-attended java meetup that I've been to.

There was some confusion over the start time; the official start time has been changed to 6.30, and the website now reflects this.

Some thoughts:

Because of the size (& success) of this last meetup, I'm thinking we should change the venue for the social/networking part of the evening to the Asgard, a spacious restaurant/bar @ 350 Mass Ave. The Miracle of Science is a great place, but it is small, and the Asgard has a lot of open space that is perfect for eating/drinking/mingling. If you have opinions about this, please let me know.

We've also increased the max number of yes/maybe rsvps to 30. Since a big part of this meetup is talking about java with other developers, my view is that we should keep it small enough so that each of us could feasibly meet & talk with each of the other attendees; I feel like this enhances the social experience. I will be open to changing this number; please feel free to give me your two cents on this.

The next meetup date is listed as May 19th, but it looks as if I will have a conflict on that day; I will probably push the next meetup back to sometime in early June, and I will make this official once I arrange for a presenter. I hope to do this in the next few days.
