Android is an Open Handset Alliance (OHA) project sponsored by Google which offers a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. People interested the innovative network effects of opensourcing mobile device applications where the experience will surpass the web, and more importantly where immersive, location aware mashups, virtual simulations, metaverse services start to emerge should be interested.

Didn't go as too busy, but v impressed by demos of Android today (28th May 2008) at Google's IO event. The draggable 'desktop' and pattern based unlock were ultra cool and innovative. Nice!

Is the future going to be between Adobe AIR / Android - VS - iPhone - VS - Windows Mobile? If Air runs on all but iPhone, then it's Apple VS rest of world. I-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g.

    •  Peter Elliott was our gracious host at PA Consulting and gave us an excellent revision of 'Wildfire' thinking of the mobile as your remote control. Juan's location based collaborative story building game was certainly a new and well fitting demo to extending social interaction to the mobile platform. And as always, James Bodys' sage and informed views gave us many things to think about around GSM overlays and voIP.
